1st Oct Leaving for Bangkok

Our trip starts 11am Monday morning – we left our apartment in Jefferson house for the last time with our rucksacks on our backs and heading for Dublin airport. Teresa kindly gave us a lift and took some of our belongings so we don’t have to head straight to the storage unit when we get back!! (Thanks Teresa)

So after a long 7.5 hours we arrived in Dubai airport, it was very crowded and all I wanted to do was lye down after sitting for so long, we then boarded for another 6.20 hours, Matt and I didn’t get much sleep on either flight probably due to excitement. When we arrived in Bangkok we headed straight to the hotel Matt was clever enough to book (as we were tired and we arrived at noon so the temperature was a lovely 32 degrees) we then went to the nearest restaurant and ordered an easy meal pad thai which cost a massive 50 baht (1 pound) it was lovely! We then snoozed for a couple of hours before exploring the local streets for street food and drink, I had forgotten how easy it is to get food and drink so we definitely will not starve! After a few drinks and very full tummy’s we retired for the night, happy with our successful journey 🙂
