Day 16 Moving on

Today we had to be up at 445 to enable us to get the 6am ferry to mainland, our plan was to get as far as we could down south to malaysia.
It started with a ride in a tourist police car which kindly stopped and offered us a lift to the port which we were all very greatful for as we didn’t actually see any taxi’s which we assumed there would be.
We boarded the ferry which took 1 1/2 hours straight onto a bus for another hour, we then managed to get a mini bus to Hat yai(5 hours) then straight onto another one for 3 hours that took us to the Malaysian boarder!!!
Already a long days travel, we had lost a hour as Malaysia is an hour ahead and we had to get used to a different currency which i actually found easier than the thai baht.
We all decided to push on and get as close as we could to the Perhentian islands, so after another hour and a half in a taxi we arrived at the port, we got our boat ticket ready for the morning and found a cheap room to sleep(it was the worst room so far but we only had 6 hours to sleep so i wasn’t to fussed)
As we were so tired we fell pretty much as our heads hit the pillow, pleased that we had got so far!!!
