24th – 25th Oct – Phuket

So our journey back to Thailand started at 2am, we got the bus to Bangkok via the Aranya Prathet boarder crossing. It was a little bit of a stressful journey as we had booked flights from Bangkok to Phuket at 2.40 that afternoon, when we booked them we were told we had plenty of time but as it turned out we only just made the check in time phew!! So we happily boarded the plane and made the hour journey down to Phuket.
We had decided to stay in a quite part of the Island and headed by mini bus to Hat Kata Noi and we stayed in the Fantasy hill bungalow which was one of the cheaper options but still even at low season prices we are finding things to be more expensive than we would like! Once we had settled in we went in search of food and a pair of flip flops for me as my last ones had worn out already.
The following day we rented a motor bike and found ourselves a nice quite beach, it didn’t take us long and took us even less time to run into the sea, it was worth the wait, we enjoyed the day swimming, snorkelling and relaxing on the beach. That evening we made the most of having the bike and took ourselves into Patong which was very busy full of bars and plenty of offers for ping pong shows! We found a nice cheap place to eat and soon headed back to our guest house. We decided that evening to go in search of a more secluded Island the following day, the plan was to head to Ko Yao Noi a lovely small Island but that wasn’t men’t to be, as we thought the boat left at 10.30 but on a Friday there is only one boat that leaves at 17.30 and we didn’t want to wait at the port with our bags until then so Phi Phi Island it was.
