18th Oct – Vang Vieng

This morning we headed for Vang Vieng by bus, it was a very slow and long journey as the roads in Loas aren’t very good. We kept ourselves busy by eating, reading and sleeping. We started the journey at 9 and got to Vang Vieng by 6ish, we had to take a tuk tuk from the bus station to the town centre to find a guest house. This time we set our price limit before we started looking, it seems the further south we come the more expensive places are getting! After a few places we settled on a room at our price limit, it was a standard room but apparently his best room, it wasn’t until the morning when it was light we realised the amazing view we had from our balcony we had found a nice place. In the evening we found a quite place to have a drink, Vang Vieng is known for its party atmosphere, which it lives up to its name and has it’s many drunken foreigners. In the quite bar we met up with two girls we met in Luang Prabang. After enjoying a couple of drinks with the girls we went in search for a nice place to eat, which was a success as I had a lovely falafel dinner. In the morning we went for breakfast and a walk round and soon decided that we wanted to continue on to get to the beach sooner. That afternoon we took a bus to Vientiane.
